Who We Are
Hello, Kayla here!
I am the founding owner and lead instructor of Breathe to the Beat Community CPR based in Somerville, MA. I decided to take my love of teaching in early education and participation in over 20 American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid classes to create a business that focuses on the collaboration between instructor and participants.
One of my goals is to create a community with my classes. A community of inclusion, safety, kindness, and preparedness.
I follow the American Red Cross curriculum, just with my own teaching style sprinkled in. It is a personal passion to work with participants to achieve their goals and work together to overcome obstacles. My favorite moments in class are when the atmosphere goes from stuffy and awkward at the start of what everyone thinks is going to be a boring class, to a jovial and relaxed atmosphere where the class becomes its own entity.
To put this a different way, every class has common elements like course materials and required content that needs to appear each time. What makes every class different is YOU! Each participant brings their own experience, perspective, and knowledge. This is where the magic of community lives in each class. Let’s extend this community beyond class and continue these wonderful conversations. Consider visiting our social media pages and let us continue to build the B2B community.
One of the trademarks of a B2B class is having a CPR playlist play while participants perform CPR. It helps keep rhythm and allows us all to have fun, while learning serious life-saving skills!
